How Can swelling And Pain In The Ankle Be Treated?

Recently I had a lot of ankle swelling due to a lot of standing & an airplane ride (I have ulcerative colitis & scleroderma), but while the swelling has gone down, I now have a throbbing pain just below each ankle bone, and when I flex my feet I have tightness. What can be causing the pain?

It seems to be inflammation over that area i would suggest you not to panic, ice the area take good rest, wrap crepe bandage around ankle and take your pain meds in pain. it will settle soon. if this doesnt settle in a week i would suggest you to visit your treating doctor to get specific medication.
